What's a suitable substitute for your favorite hard-to-get brews?

I live in Chicago and Ballast Point doesn't distribute here. I really enjoy Sculpin and I wish I had regular access to it. I recently discovered Summit Saga IPA and I have to say it's a comparable and very tasty alternative to Sculpin. It has a similar tropical flavor profile and does a great job of satisfying my Sculpin fix. As a bonus, Saga is cheaper here in Chicago at $7.99 a six versus $14.99 a six for Sculpin when I'm in Dallas.

To hone this discussion, try to pair brews that are similar to each other, not the entire beer style e.g. malty IPAs with malty IPAs, or coffee oatmeal stouts with coffee oatmeal stouts. I know it's easy to fall into a "best of" debate but I would like to see what substitutes your evasive tipple.

Deep Ellum IPA is also another suitable alternative but I can only get that in Dallas -which goes against the point of accessibility but not price.

When I'm in the mood for a more balanced IPA, Racer 5 is almost as good as Two Hearted. Almost.

When it's not FBS season, Ipswich Oatmeal Stout is like a bench player who hits in the clutch whenever called upon.
