Their citra/mosaic v5 released couple weeks ago was damn near perfect

 

I know this is crazy, and possibly a possibility at the source/B&C, but I wish there were “variety” 4-packs.

I had 3 of V16 recently, and enjoyed them (more as time progressed). Sent the other to a friend on the east coast. But my fridge is perniciously filled with hops, my cellar is beyond capacity, and stout season is about to crash over us like a black, sticky wave. I crave variety, cost efficacy, and a path forward that doesn’t involve my liver being shot by 40.

V4packs! As a marketing tool, just imagine how the tickers will react!

 

You can mix them at the brewery. I have done 2 and 2 and they were happy to do it. Grabbed Fresh Simcoe today and looking forward to the cans getting cold!

 

Gotta give Treehouse and Trillium credit for selling by the can when they don’t have to (I realize TH had oddball numbers of cans of course)

 

I strongly disagree...although I think in general this series is improving, the can I had tasted like dirt, coriander & astringent booze heat.

Had I bought a 4 pack I would've left the other 3 in the alley & washed my hands of it.

given the hop combo, I was surprised with the end result.

i don't feel as strongly as you do, haha, but definitely a disappointment. i will say the most recent V8 was fantastic and one of the best beers i've had this year.

 

And apparently you’re the alleyway beer scavenger. It’s ok, we all have a role to play in this scene.

 

So do I pickup my 3rd 4-pack of Galaxy Bowl tonight or V20/One-hop Simcoe???

Galaxy Bowl and hold it for a month or so. The last batch of GB I had I kept a can for 7 weeks and it was still drinking phenomenal.

 

Isn't it funny how this is the literal opposite of the first batch?

 

It is. But the batch in March(?) of this year was pretty amazing. I usually have a couple of singles of past bought 4pks lurking in the back of the fridge that gets stuff throw in front of them and it amazed me how juicy it still was with almost 3 months on it. Only HB beer to date that has done that. Still got a can of One Hop Citra I’m gonna crack in a couple weeks hoping for the same effect.

 

Had a can of One Hop Simcoe tonight. It was a really good Simcoe showcase and met expectations. Slight but noticeable alcohol burn on the finish. Noticed this with a few beers since around the time the move to cans happened (for a time reference). Not mad I have 3 more cans though

 

Anyone try the new Devil's Reign Une Anee/DryHop collaboration that just came out? I wish I tried it before I bought two 4 packs from the brewery. Has a very strange taste to it. First beer from UA/HC that I have not liked.

 

Depends on the sensuality and tolerance of the people at the bottle share.
I may actually have some panties in a drawer here, but I would not expect anybody to wear them for the purpose of dropping them later.

 

As of last weekend they were gone. If you like vanilla bombs, I wouldn't worry too much about missing it...
