Une Année/Hubbard's Cave Releases

I wish they still distributed to STL. It just stopped suddenly but I keep seeing them post about starting distro to various states on the east coast.

 

They have some barrels, including zacaton, I was told. They have a stout aged in barrels for 3 years that was really cool, draft only in the fall. Did a quick blend of that and Zacaton, loved it. I'm looking forward to future releases.

 

Well it looks like they may be closed to the public for a little bit...

 

Rather than "vote with my dollars", I chose to "vote with my vehicle".

 

I think that's what I'll do at Binny's Black Friday next year so I don't have to sit in line in the cold and rain....

 

I hoped the driver flipped the bartender the keys and said "Filler up."

 

And have hundreds of jackasses cut in front of you once the line starts to tighten. Still bitter, I am.

 

They posted today that they had boarded where the window is and will be open. That's pretty cool.

Honestly, that picture kind of freaks me out. I went there in the middle of an errand Sunday and sat right against that window for a beer. Anybody know what happened? Seems weird since there aren't the diagonal parking spaces in front which is where you've typically heard of somebody in drive who thought they were in reverse kind of thing.

 

Pure speculation, but my money is on an old timer that probably shouldn't be behind the wheel.

 

I have been stopping in on Monday at Une Annee and have really been enjoying the beers they are serving. I thought the fresh IPA V5 with Citra and mosaic was delicious and the all Citra fresh IPA was really good as well. Last time I was in I had the Quad, the Plum Wild and the Rasberry pot de creme and they were all 4.0 or better in my opinion.

Staff is fun and can't wait to stop in again.

 

Brought a bottle of the Grand Monde 2018 - 1 to a small gathering last night, and damn... it is just as gorgeous from the bottle as it was on draft. Definitely worth picking up.

 

May go tomorrow. Is this the sour with vanilla and currants?

I had V12 the other day. Seemed executed well but I didn't really like it. Maybe I don't like Ekuanot hops? Anyone else have this one? What were you thoughts?

 

Solid for me but I agree that Ekuanot might just not be a preference. I liked Kriek and really liked Le Grand Monde 2018-1. It looks like Black Razz but the vanilla really adds something here.

 

Saw the Trib article about it today. You're spot on. 80-something who was with his wife at the hospital all night and fell asleep.
