Came here to say the same thing. Just cracked one. This is killer.

 

A bit on the bitter/dry end for me. Nice lemon notes though.

 

That's fair. I happen to enjoy that kind of finish so this beer is right in my wheelhouse. Very reminiscent of a Trillium Galaxy Cutting Tiles and that is meant as a compliment.

 

I should add...the mouthfeel is spot on.

My quibble is an opinion-type thing (I prefer my IPA's on the fruity/sweeter side), but based on the earlier iterations of this series, I think the overall beer is much improved.

And, now that this series is in cans, I'll be checking in WAY more often.

Has anyone seen French Toast bottles still around in stores? I have no clue if this was even distributed or how quickly it sold out.

 

I think I saw it at Warehouse Liquors a week ago? Might be worth giving them a call to see if they still have it in stock before heading over there though.

 

Not sure where you live, but Prisco's Family Market in Aurora had 5 different hubbard's cave stouts on the shelf about a week ago, including French Toast.

 

I spotted several bottles at Garfields in Wicker this afternoon.

these new Hubbard Cave cans are really hitting the spot for me. Absolutely 0 of the issues I had with some of the bombers. They taste incredible. Drinking a fresh hop mosaic right now it's hitting the spot. If you are a mosaic fan it is definitely worth picking some of these up, grabbed a second four pack after I finished the first.

 

Saw one of their IPA's canned TODAY at Binny's; it was still cold from packaging.

My fridge is packed with hops so I passed, but I wanted to pass the word!!

 

I saw this post this morning and I’m pretty excited. Chicago’s sour game is average at best. Every Une Anne sour that I’ve had have been a basic sour + flavors added (and some have been very good...like LGM 2018-3). I don’t know the specifics here, but a move towards a more complex funk and flavor is welcomed imo.

 

anyone tried V18 which was billed as using similar hop bill to pliny the elder?

 

i like it. get a lot of melon off the nose, its pretty damn tasty. been years since ive had pliny but i can see why they mentioned it.

Had V17 over the weekend. Not my jam at all. Dr Rudi and Vic Sec hops. I'll finish the rest of the 4 pack, but I wasn't a huge fan.
