Unexpected beer finds

This summer, at my local store, there was an opened case on the floor sort of tucked away underneath a shelf which appeared to just be filled with random bottles. A Smuttynose label caught my eye, and it turned out to be a 2008 Very Old Brown Dog. I decided to buy it for the hell of it, but it turned out to be one best beers I've ever had.

 

I found an Orchard White from The Bruery. Was just about to leave the store because I didn't see anything worth while until it caught my eye. I hope it didn't sit on the shelves for to long.

 

I was looking for a bottle of Sucaba yesterday. My go-to shops both were out so I went to look elsewhere. I try a small corner shop a ways down the road and it not only has 5-6 bottles of Sucaba sitting on the shelf, it had Peruvian Morning as well. I was pleased.

 

Some guy randomly came up to me at a store when I was looking at Pelican beers and gave me a MOAS.

 

My band has played a few times at this not-so-great bar in Humboldt Park called Pancho's (I believe the name has changed now). The last time we played there, some dudes had bought Pancho out and were in the midst of converting the place into a craft bar with a restaurant attached. I had a delicious burger on a brioche bun with fries and a glass of Old Rasputin for $10! Last thing I was expecting.

 

If I dont trade it. Yes. =)

 

I think that's the craziest deal I've ever heard of. I would have had to be carried out of that place.

 

Was just about to leave Whole Foods Bowery the other day and spotted 2 bottles of Kuhnhenn BB4D just sitting there on the shelves. Their beers NEVER show up here in bottles in my experience. Score!

 

Several bottles of Pliny the Elder in Michigan...They were in the 'back room.' $8 per bottle.
