I have 5 bottles (2004, 2005, 15,16,17). I'm planning on opening all at a special event. The question is when?
Anyone have any tastings of these beers are long cellaring?

I had a 2004 a few months ago and loved it. Never had it fresh, but I can't imagine it has fallen off much. That's all I can offer.

In my mind, the 17 is going down right now. I would say, the sooner, the better! I find that Unibroue beers will benefit from a year or two, but after they will decline. Tried a 2002 Trois Pistoles 6 months ago and it was awful, drain poor.

I hope your 2004-2005 hold up, cause those were awesome beers!

Recently cracked a 2005, it was a ghost beer. You could see it, but it wasn't there. Liquid cardboard was all that remained. This bottle had only been in my possession since mid 2009, it had resided on the same liquor shelf for the previous four years, but had been properly cellared since then.
