Union Double Duckpin

Saw it a couple weeks ago at Gilly's in MoCo -- $20.99/sixer. Haven't seen it in DC.

 

Picked mine up in the past at the Wine Source in Baltimore, which is pretty much in walking distance from the actual brewery. I've never seen it in the DC area, but have seen other Union offerings.

 

Has it been only the one brewing/canning, or has there been multiple runs? It's a good beer for sure.

 

Agree I wish they put on canning dates. Not sure if they have run multiple batches or theres still sixers floating around from the first run. Ive seen it in Rodmans in DC as well as a few places in Howard County. Picked up a sixer at Cindys Liquors for 14.99 last month and it was drinking well.

 

I believe it has been canned the one time - mid November - I think the release was 12 Nov 2014. So it's getting a bit old, but I had my last can around New Years and it held up quite well. Good stuff - hope Union cans it regularly/continually.

I thought with them canning it that it would become a year round release, but I haven't seen it on shelves lately, hopefully they are making it year round and it's hits shelves again soon. Really an excellent beer.

 

Check Old Line in Beltsville not too far from College Park. They had it last month. The lack of printed canning date is not good. Someone should "write a letter" to the brewery.

 

Yea I stopped by there last week to see if I good grab a 6 pack to use some as extras in some trades and drink the rest but they were out. I went ~ a month ago and they had several cases of it at the time.

I agree, it would be nice if they added canning dates on the bottom.

 

According to their twitter feed we'll see another batch next month. I'll have to stock up then.

 

I had one last night from a case I bought in mid-December. Still tasted great. Fantastic beer.

 

They are canning another batch around valentines day. I am going to probably pick up a case from the brewery when they release the next batch

 

I believe they have done two can batches already. My understanding is they did a second run 2-3 weeks after the first batch was released. Most of the cans still out with be from the second batch since the first batch went very quickly.

 

I had one just the other day that's been in my fridge for a while and it held up great. I'd say it holds up better than many other hoppy beers (the can probably helps big time).

 

This is going to be the OTWOA of MD. It will come out on a rotating basis, and hit distribution (not sure if OTWOA does).

 

Fresh batch is out, I picked up some today. This is a damn tasty brew. Nice to have a really good local dipa offering. Well done Union.

 

We got a sixer last week from their Taphouse the first day this batch came out. Great stuff. Also had their miracle weizenbock. Very good.
