I never attacked Firestone Walker - I love Wookey Jack to death, for instance - I'm just saying that Union Jack is a much better beer than Double Jack.

And it's not even a BAD beer, it's just way too malty for my tastes. Bah, I'm done arguing, I'm just gonna drink a damn beer...

Sorry, but I had to protect and I have learned the way to talk about beers short comings without bashing the product. Cheers and sorry, sometimes I feel protective.

I happen to be drinking a Union Jack right now so why not chime in?

Union Jack is absolutely one of my favorite "grocery store" IPAs, meaning something I can always count on finding without going out of my way. I actually did a blind taste test and UJ beat out Stone IPA, Green Flash West Coast IPA, Racer 5 and a few others.

There are definitely far superior IPAs that I drink much less frequently (Enjoy By, Notorious, Pliny, Heady, Keene Idea to name a few) but considering the price and availability, I'm extremely thankful that Union Jack exists!

Yea I'd buy it more often if I could get it fresh.

For me its a top "6 pack IPA". Others include Racer 5, Finest Kind, Hoponious Union (not a ale but whatever) and Sculpin(way overpriced).

Blind Pig is outstanding, might be available in Wa. Caldera from OR is outstanding too. Alpine make great beers, probably a CA thing though.

I get the sense that you like DIPAs more.

Union Jack is great, but what's even better is fresh Cask Union Jack. I was fortunate enough to have this at an anniversary series event with several of FWs barrel aged beers being showcased and while I thoroughly enjoyed them, what stole the show was the Cask Union Jack. I wish I could drink it again.
