Union posted this yesterday, stating that their 22oz bottles of Snow Pants may not taste right and they're accepting returns on unopened bottles. Has anyone cracked one open yet? I picked one up a while ago when I was last in Baltimore, but haven't opened it. Just want to see what other people thought. If it's at all decent, I'll just keep it, but if it's awful, I'll figure out a time to take it back to the brewery.

"We reviewed the results of the lab analysis and we have determined that some bottles are developing unintentional flavors resulting from the secondary fermentation that occurs in our bottle conditioned beers."

That's a kind of a cop-out explanation. Yeah it's due to secondary fermentation - but not by the intended yeast. Just admit the beer got infected by brett or some other wild yeast/bacteria.

I wrote to the brewery about a week ago to let them know that the bottle I bought was extremely sour. It was awful. I couldn't get past two sips. They wrote back and said it was likely infected and that they would replace it if I stopped by the brewery. Apparently I wasn't the only one that got a bad bottle. I haven't had a chance to get up there yet for a replacement.

Bought one at Stateline about a month ago and haven't opened it yet. Unfortunately I'm 4 hours away from the brewery, so hopefully mine isn't infected, or I'm screwed.

I lucked out I guess, I almost picked this up many weeks ago while I was in Baltimore but changed my mind. Some people I know had it and it was fine, but that really sucks if you got an infected bottle.

Still sounds like the brewery is doing right, glad to hear that.

How does this work bottles that got distributed? I have seen it on the shelf a couple places and was surprised it didn't get pulled off.
