Just wondering if any Chicago peeps can recommend a place to grab a couple beers and some food before a Bulls game. Was thinking of hitting up Haymarket, but someone at work said that they only run shuttles for Hawks games. I'll try calling to get the real scoop, but wanted to have a backup plan just in case (happy to hear if there are "better" options, as well). Worst case scenario, we can probably grab an Uber to the UC but would rather avoid surge pricing if we can.

I have taken a shuttle from Kaiser Tiger to the UC before. I'd absolutely call ahead to make sure they're doing it for your specific event, but if so, they usually have the best tap list in the west loop for my money.

Kaiser Tiger is really good(at the corner of Randolph and Ogden), and it would be about a 15 minute walk to the UC.

Not sure of the beer selection, but I usually park near West End (free parking on Ada) and take their free shuttle to and fro the UC. Unless it's not freezing out, it's only like a mile walk.

Yeah, the game is tomorrow night (welcome back, Coach Thibs!), so we'll want to minimize the walking. We'll be leaving straight from work (the Loop) and relying on CTA/taxi/uber.

I ain't read good. Missed the part where you said you won't be driving.

I bet Thibs misses this place. Not going so well up north!

I thought Beer Bistro ran a shuttle as well. I'd check with them.

If Haymarket runs a shuttle for Bulls games I would highly recommend taking their shuttle. I used to take their shuttle to Hawks games and they have free growlers of beer on the bus for the "long" ride.

Whoever told you only for Hawks games was lying their ass off. They definitely do the shuttle for Bulls games (as I will also be going to the Bulls game tonight). @croush has a great call with Beer Bistro and I believe the shuttle stops within a block or two of there. I believe the bus stops along Madison and is the #20 bus.

Well, it turns out that 2 people have now told me that, and 1 of them actually works at Haymarket. :stuck_out_tongue: My buddy suggested hitting Rudy's in the loop and catching the #19 bus (UC express), so I guess that's the plan.

Thanks for the recommendations, everyone. I'm definitely hitting up Beer Bistro when OKC comes to town next month, and Kaiser Tiger next time I see the Hawks.

As people mentioned, CTA. The public transit system is good, I wouldn't even worry about the shuttle knowing how easy it is to catch a bus.
