Who will be out there this weekend? Weather should be cool for once.

Yes, there is some indoors, but most of the beer is served from tents outside and the music is outside too.

From an email they just sent out:

We've already sold more tickets to this festival than any previous Untapped! For the first time ever, we might actually sell out of Concert + Beer tickets! Don't say we didn't warn you...

That mildly scares me. Good for them, but bad for lines.

My only complaints were, I wasnt a fan of the timed releases and many breweries not ready when started VIP, but it was a great event and had a great time.

Hmm... wondering if this is becoming a trend. We hit up the event in Houston about a month ago. When VIP opened, there was no one pouring at GI. None of the bottled beers had been chilled. Small crowds... so no issues in the long run. Glad to here that overall, Dallas was fun. First Untapped event we've missed.

I had a great time. No VIP. Got in line just after 3:00 and they started processing tickets and IDs so were ready to go in right at 3:30. Still got almost everything I wanted.

This thing tends to draw a lot of noobs and the trend seekers. They cluster around the locals becasue that's what they know. I was surprised at how many people bailed out by the time Cake came on.

We went away from timed release at our Beerfeast for this reason. Credit @thirdeye11 for the trend of having everything ready to pour the moment your event starts. That way VIP's can drink what they want when they want without having the save room in the tank for a special release 4 hours later.

Yeah GI was where I went first, they were lost and not ready so I went to the Jester King table to grab the Aurelian Lure cask. My favorite beer that evening. Tried the Kollaborationsbier, which didnt wow me. Tried the Went back to JK table later and they had Omniscience & Proselytism which was really good also.

Just seems to me, VIP should have access to ALL beers for that hour. I didn't know anything about times till I went to the booths.

Thanks for the kind words! So long as we are doing beer festivals, ours will ALWAYS have all the beers available when the doors open, barring anything outside of our control (like a missed keg delivery or something).

In my opinion, timed releases just cause chaos and long lines in one area unnecessarily. This is annoying for people to try to walk through, and also for the people having to wait in line. At least when everything is tapped all at once, the beer lines get distributed pretty evenly.

    Cheers,
    Chad

Participants of your events understand the value N & yourself place on the experience . The little things matter and they add up. The confidence I have after seeing things "go right", helps temper what can be a hectic day for an organizer. I didn't have a chance to come Dallas way for this event but if the special tapping line was the "worst" problem I suspect Untapped did it right
