Untapped Fest Fort Worth

First time it has been to FW, was in Dallas not too long ago. The beer list for FW slaughters the Dallas event (Thank you Firestone Walker, Founders!) I will be there! VIP!

 

Went in September(?) of last year to the inaugural Dallas event. It was a blast. Good music and good beer. The area was small and the lines were short. We bought VIP and really got our money's worth (left midday for a quick snack + trip over to Four Corners). I haven't bought a ticket to this one but am strongly considering it.

 

Yep, Sept 8th... my wife's birthday... I didn't get to go.

I'll miss the Ft Worth one but I plan on going to the Dallas one that's most likely going to be in September again.

 

The list looks good but between the cash my wife and I dropped at BTBF last weekend, the several hours at Moth last night and going to Vegas next week we'll need a drinking break that weekend.

 

I went last year. The lines were very short and I thought it was really fun; it was on the hot side though and I was hungover so that sucked. But still had a great time all in all.

Also, its kinda weird you mention that b/c sept 8 is my birthday too. Mildly interesting, I know.

 

I'm planning on going, and VIP as well. About time I get to actually GO to a beer festival As of a few days ago, they announced that there were <100 VIPs left so get 'em soon.

Last year was fun, hot, and had some good beers. I've been told they want to blow Fort Worth out of the water with the Dallas list this year.

 

That will be very tough to do, and in my opinion, won't really be necessary. The Fort Worth list is looking sick.

 

So for the "access to rare tappings"...does that mean full pours or just samples? I will be going VIP regardless, but just curious.

 

I'm not going, but pretty sure it means 2 oz samples

 

Can't attend. Main st is the same weekend and every hand will be on deck to serve beer at the Saucer

 

Aw crap! Main St. is next weekend?! Geeze, I've been hiding under a rock lately I guess. I'm sick of missing out man No beer fest for me, I'll be at Main St. with the girl child and the hubs.

Yeah, it would be nice to talk to someone at a Saucer who knows something about beer and isn't just a 20 year old girl willing to wear a short skirt. That would be a nice change......

What position did you take at Saucer? I haven't been much lately, finished my plate in January....taking a little breather haha.

 

PT Bartender right now. Hopefully I can bring a fresh eye to the staff but it's been great to learn from Homer in particular. Our knowledge is very lock and key. I've really only been in the service industry a few months before this and that was a dozen+ years ago so it's been a hard couple weeks. I'm definitely only a novice in the craft beer world but I'm super passionate about it so hopefully that's enough to carry me.

Honestly if I can emulate the amazing crew of DFW BA's I've grown to know over this past year the job will be a snap.

On subject...I had a long discussion tonight with some regulars about this event..damn it's exciting to have this tap list, this band list HERE..in Fort Worth. It shows we have a strong foundation for craft beer and the smart brewers will recognize and demand better distribution (I can't wait for the day when all the great beer spots in DFW get the pick of the litter). Same goes for Dallas. Untapped there, the Common Table, BTXBF, ex cetera. Good times ahead
