If you ever get the chance to try the BA version of the waffle stout, do. It's very good. Keeps rising in value though.

I feel like I remember hearing somewhere that a BA Oaxacan Stout was in the works. Any updates on that one?

Haven't heard but Almond Stout should be out this week. Supposedly it's not as sweet as Waffle or Hazelnut. Those were borderline undrinkable for me.

I thought Hazelnut was good but am 'borderline' afraid to try waffle after reading this thread. I've liked most UA beers so far (IPAs have been hit or miss but on the fruits and darks) so if I find the Almond I'll grab a 4-er for sure. Any signs that anything UA that's barrel-aged may hit distro or are any and all of those Madison pick up only (so far as we know)?

Picked up a four pack of the Black Stout today.

Was excited for this one, because I was ready for a big stout that didn't have a bunch of other flavors in it. It's not quite what I wanted, though. It looks great, but it's really sweet. The dark fruits are a little too dominant, maybe, I could use a little more roast to balance it out.

For those of you in the Madison area, Mr. Brews - East Madison will be hosting a special tapping of Barley Shake on May 8th. Barleyshake is a 12% Abv Barleywine that Untitled Art made with Jackie O's Brewery in Athens, Ohio. The Barleywine itself was also made with Lactose Sugar, providing a flavors of smooth Caramel and light malt. The exact date is possibly subject to change (check Mr. Brews event page for updates) but the release is being advertised for Madison Craft Beer Week.

Just extra info: 22 oz. bottles for b2, not the 750 ml that b1 was.

I’m reading on Facebook that the event starts at noon, but Full Pint is saying 2pm. Anyone know which is the official starting time for the party?

I am going to try to make my way out. B1 has alluded me and is a beer I’ve really wanted to try. Looking forward to B2 and happy to see that high bottle count. I haven’t been able to find whether it is cash only, which leads me to believe it won’t be. Anyone know if cash only?

Is there any news on UA barrel aging any other offerings beside the Hazelnut Stout? I thought their Oaxacan Stout would make a great candidate for barrel aging as would the Coffee Barleywine and Neapolitan Stout. Just curious if anyone in the loop knows anything.
