What are some beers you've had aged (intentionally or otherwise) that aren't beers you would normally think to age/ aren't beers that have been commonly discussed in the Cellaring/Aging forums? And what was your verdict?

DuClaw Guilty Filthy Soul Imperial Chocolate Rye Porter 2014
Aged 1 year. Disappointed. All of what made this beer delicious really fell off - chocolate was gone, smooth creaminess of the carbonation was gone... became somewhat bitter, one dimensional, and boring. Tasted like an uninspired brown ale or porter, and not the amazing beer it started off as. This beer used to be velvet. Now it is cardboard.

    Goose Island Sixth Day 2013
Aged 1 year and Aged 2 years
Disappointed both times. I had had GI Christmas Ale 2012 aged one year, and I thought it was delicious. Sixth Day did not change in the same way. At 1 year, it felt kinda boring, like it needed more time, but at 2 years, it tasted a little bitter, boozy, and failed to develop any nice dark fruit flavors.

Saucony Creek Captain Pumpkin's Maple Mistress Imperial Pumpkin Ale 2013
At 1 year, it was still kinda meh - just tasted a little old.
At 2 years, it developed into something REALLY NICE. Better than fresh IMO, with a ice bit of pumpkin coming through. The beer picked up additional caramel, burnt sugar notes that added a lot of depth to the beer.

Had the same Sixth Day experience. The only reason I was aging it was because I hated it (despite LOVING thier Chritmas ales in years prior). Still have one left from 2013

Found a Sam Adams something Lager(dark) in the back of the cabinet that had to have been in there for 6-8 years. It was smooth Mofo
