Boston, MA –On May 17th and 18th, HarpoonFest – Boston’s best local music and beer festival – returns to the Seaport. Harpoon has once again teamed up with Boston’s own Will Dailey to curate a stellar lineup of local acts intended to reflect the best of the city’s thriving music scene. Dailey, a seven-time winner at the Boston Music Awards (including three for Best Singer/Songwriter, two for Male vocalist one Artist of the Year), left a major label to strike out on his own with National Throat, released in 2014. The album went on to critical acclaim and the experience affirmed Dailey’s commitment to local, independent music. “All of Boston thrives when the art made here is celebrated authentically and enthusiastically by the organic, true to soil companies that call it home. More and more companies are making the effort and realizing the benefit but Harpoon has been doing it for a long time for artists like myself and my friends.” Will Dailey In 2014, Harpoon took its commitment to brewing independence one step further, and became employee-owned. The synergy between local, independent brewing and local, independent music is not lost on the Brewery’s founder and CEO, Dan Kenary, who led the journey to employee ownership. “We’ve been brewing here in the Seaport for over 30 years, and welcoming visitors for all of them.” Kenary said. “We’ve had the option of selling out numerous times, but it’s just not in our DNA. We’re honored to not just meet but celebrate kindred spirits who share the same commitment to staying true to themselves. We’re excited to have Will back and to see the great lineup of bands he has put together.” In 2019, HarpoonFest will feature music from 18 bands, ranging from Band of their Own (BOTO: Boston’s newest supergroup, featuring Kay Hanley, Jen Trynin, Tanya Donnelly, and Gail Greenwood among others), Cliff Notez, Jenny Dee and the Delinquents, Dwight and Nicole, Oompa and more. https://harpoonfest2019.splashthat.com/web What: HarpoonFest 2019 When: Friday, May 17th, 6:30 to 11:00 pm (Entrance closes at 9:30 pm) and Saturday, May 18th, 1:00 to 7:00 pm (Entrance closes at 5:30 pm) Where: Harpoon Brewery, 306 Northern Avenue, Boston, MA Beers (and Cider) on Tap: Harpoon: IPA, Rec.
