I will be making the trip up to NYC in Early/Mid-Oct for NYCC.

I will be in Manhattan/Brooklyn the majority of my trip and was hoping to get some advice on local spots in the city that would be a best bet to have a solid regional IPA or Stout that I wouldn't find on the shelf or in a bar down here in FL.

I know I could spend an hour going through all of the reviews in the 'Places' section but NYC is a fast paced city and I've seen good places turn bad or close in a moments notice.

I do plan on going to Sixpoint / Brooklyn Brewery at some point during my trip.

haha don't be too put off by the neighborhood and the odors emanating from the dumpsters nearby. it is more than safe during the day and the spot (and beer) are very good

I've been to NYC about a dozen times over the years so I'm accustomed to the areas / smells / deceptive look to some buildings. This will be my first trip since taking up a love for craft beer so I wanted to make sure I didn't miss any of the special spots.

I noticed a subway station not even a block away so that makes it really convenient.

I couldn't get a lot of info from their webpage, do they do growler fills and/or sell cans/bottles of any of their beers? Some of the IPAs listed on the web sound amazing and I might want to bring some home.

Thanks guys, as usual, this community is awesome.

Just growler fills and pints at the tasting room.

You can try to ask for a bottle of their BAIP, but not sure if they have any left.

If you're going out to other half make it a day trip and go to mission delores, owl Farm, and bierkraft. All of them are within walking distance of each other and all are fantastic.
