I have a work trip later this week and I will be in Boston with a free day on Friday and part of Saturday. I am coming from CO, so I am not super familiar with the area (in terms of beer knowledge). I am thinking of heading to Portland ME and going to Allagash (one of my favorites). Any suggestions?

I'd vote for a visit to any or all of Trillium, Jack's Abby, and Tree House. (I've never been to Allagash, so I cant comment)
I highly recommend Trillium. Not much to see really, a long bar, some glasses for sale, T-shirts. But the beer is world class awesome...On a Friday afternoon you may even have the place to yourself for a little while.
