I spent today creating a proper queue for incoming reports for beer and place reviews. I also processed thousands of reports that had built up since the Report link was applied to reviews. Not only did this clean up some bogus reviews (and update beer/place stats accordingly), but it gave me some great insight into how it's been used so far.
    1. There's a lot of users who care about the quality of the reviews.
    2. There's a lot of trigger happy users who simply report what or who they don't like. And some of you reported reviews by mistake. Most of the reports were dismissed as a result, but they still wasted my time.
    3. A small handful of users used reviews to challenge the rating system or spam. We're giving these users a pass, for now, but their reported content has been removed and going forward these actions will result in removal of content and account banning without warning.
    4. Finally, we need to stay on top of the reports and review them on a daily basis.
I'd like to thank everyone who submitted valid reports. It really does help the entire community and its visitors. Keep it up, and remember ...

    Do Report
If you discover a non-constructive review or one that breaches our Terms of Service.

    Don't Report
Simply because you dislike someone or their opinion. It may backfire on you.

    Don't Forget to Like!
And on a more positive note, if you dig a user's review ... show them some love by clicking the Like link.

That's it for now. I need a beer before my Saturday is over. :grimacing:
