So I'm driving up solo to Russian River from San Francisco on Friday, and am trying to plan on how much I'll have to ship back vs. check at the airport. That amount will be determined by the number of bottles I'm able to buy.
To that end, does anyone have any updated information on bottle limits for Russian River beers (namely, Pliny, Supplication, Consecration, etc.)? I plugged in a search, but I couldn't find any updated information. I've read in older threads limits on Pliny that ranged from 6 to 12 bottles, and the others ranging from 3 to 6 bottles. I know that some Pliny is being brewed off site, but I'm not sure if that's affected bottle capacity at the brewery.

I'm not looking to hoard, but wouldn't mind if the limits are on the higher end.

    Thanks!

On Sunday (1/25) the Limit on Pliny was 24, and 6 on Pig.

Wow. Looks like it really varies from day to day. Funny thing that months/years ago I would never expect the limit on Pliny to be 4 times the one on the Pig.

Excellent. Thanks for all the replies -- tells me everything I need to know. I think it's safe to assume that I'm looking at a minimum of 12 bottles of Pliny and 6 of Blind Pig.

Should be good, but nothing is safe to assume. It doesn't happen often, but bottles occasionally sell out. In my experience it's typically happened over a weekend.

The good news is now that they have the separate area for to-go cases & growlers, everything runs a bit smoother all around. It still gets crazy in there but this was a good move on their part.

Younger, FFaC and Beatification also tends to be a time to expect them to run low on bottles.

Given that I'm a week too early for Younger, hopefully the place won't be as crowded than a typical Friday afternoon. But that's probably wishful thinking on my part.

Have fun, Chris! I'm out here, too, but not heading to RR this time. You may want to plan to ship stuff, as there's a lot of good stuff sitting on the shelves right now that goes much faster in CHI -- 3F Oude Geuze, FW 18, Sucaba, Abyss, Bomb, etc.

Order the beers to go, put it in the car. Get seated and order more bottles, if you really really really need more pliny/blind pig.

I went two weeks ago and was able to pick up 24 Pliny and 6 Blind Pigs.

Thanks! That's crazy that that stuff sits on the shelves. Any bottle shop recommendations near the Westin at Union Square?

I'm checking a bag (with a padded wine check-in bag), and someone else in another thread recommended shipping through Napa Valley Winery Exchange, so I'll probably end up doing that.

Nah, 12 is more than enough for me (particularly if Pliny's a drain pour if not consumed within 2 days of being bottled).

Is it weird that I'm actually looking forward more to the sours?

Nope. I prefer their sours, especially on tap

Take an Uber to Cellarmaker, drink a ton of their beer, walk to City Beer Store, drink there, buy bottles, Uber back to hotel.

I was up there on Jan 17. I did not see a limit for Pliny but it was 6 for Blind Pig. You can now only get bottles of Pig at the brew pub. I hadn't been able to get it anywhere so asked and I was told they simply did not have enough to distribute and sell at the brew pub so stopped distro on it. Hopefully that changes because Blind Pig is a favorite. By the way, stay for some pizza if you can get a seat because the pizza is great and is even better with a fresh pint! Love that place!
