Can some San Diegoans give me an update on how it was down there today? was it a zoo? long waits? any way to pick up more than JUST 2 bottles? i want to make a trip from LA but want to know what i'm getting myself into.
Waits were longish, about 45 minutes when I was there. Not sure later in the day. They just posted on facebook that there will be bottles available tomorrow morning, still the 2 limit. Also had it on tap.
Just go if you want some, or wait 6 months and face the same conundrum. It'll be on tap, and they have great food. You can get bottles of the other IPAs that are better anyhow. Then stop at Societe/AleSmith/PizzaPorts etc. on the way back. Or find homeless mules to help you load up on bottles.
If you're not doing other stops like Societe, Pizza Port and the couple dozen other breweries you could stop by on the way from L.A. to Alpine, you're not doing it right and those other places would make the trip worth it alone.
