The lottery ended and I picked up today for me and my buddies, but for those interested in these, there is a public sale happening on August 8th for the Cherry, Kiwi, Orchid, and Sour Reserve #6

I assume these are brewery only?

Some see distro, especially when no one wants them

Within the last 2-3 years, the only ones that have seen distro were Dantalion and Malefactor. Some of the others (cherry, strawberry, kiwi, etc.) have seen distro, but that was back in around 2011.

I've seen dantallion, malefactor, cherry and Vinos on shelves in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky this year. Kinda a smack in the face to society members and those shutout by not winning the lottery runs

Some of them were on shelves here in Chicago a couple months back as well. I got Dantalion, Malefactor and Raspberry.

Raspberry, blueberry, and blackberry have hit Chicago shelves in the last year or so. Same price as brewery too

This is what I will never understand about their lottery system. Why not just put them on sale online with a pickup window. This would stop all of the "I only won 2/4 so im not going out there to get them".

All the reviews I've read make them sound like novelty beers that have been left in the dust by recent american wild and sour beers.

This is normally the case, but Paw Paw is absolutely delicious. Well above the other lambics that they offer

Huh. I guess they sent some to other states to get more people to buy their year-round stuff? Interesting.

Malefactor was killer. Definitely up there with the best american made Flanders.

No they just don't sell out. People "win" the lotto and don't go pick them up, or only pick up certain ones. Paw paw was fantastic, and a true outlier for Upland

They've pretty much always had a public sale after the lottery pickup is over, but most of the time, they've just kept the bottles at their 2-3 locations until they sell out.

And yeah, Pawpaw is on a whole other level compared to the others.
