    Email from 4:30 today

"The pickup window for Upland's Blackberry Lambic and Raspberry Lambic begins on Saturday May 12th and ends on Saturday May 26th.

Unfortunately, Persimmon Lambics will not be available.

As you may know, we carbonate our Lambics naturally, rather than artificially. One of the problems with nature is that it isn't always punctual. This batch of Persimmon Lambic is not yet fully carbonated, and we will not release until it is ready. That means we will not be releasing Persimmon Lambic this weekend as planned, and we are not sure if or when it will be ready."

    Sad day :slight_frown:

Edit: so sad that my tears falling on my keyboard made my finger slip, causing a typo in the thread title

Bummer. Now I gotta figure out when I can make the 8-hour round trip to pick up my bottle down the road. Maybe I'll try and someone near Indy to mule it for me.

Ghronke--- quit yet bitching. Be happy that you were able to reserve a bottle at all. But seriously they should give you a ten dollar gas/shipping discount or a free reserve of the next release.

Maybe they're waiting until it's a gusher just to keep with traditions

Or maybe they just hired Tomme as their consultant to fix gusher problem.

Haha, I also haven't ever had one gush on me, fortunately enough!

I've had so many gush I open them over clean bowls now so I can drink what gushes out. Not every one gushes, but enough.

You just gotta get 'em really cold. When the fruit on the label turns blue, that's when you know it's Brown County Cold. (Not necessarily applicable for the Blueberry Lambic.) At that point, open without fear!

From unofficial sources: Still having carbonation problems and won't release it unless it gets carbonated.

I have a persimmon that was bottled on 3/20/12 and is batch 71.09. Is one of the uncrarbed one's or is mine fine? Sorry if this is a threadjack :grimacing:

Maybe mine were mislabeled? No clue...I don't know anyone at Upland or anything like that.

odd, everyone i know at the brewery has been pretty clear that they aren't planning on this batch getting released b/c of the lack of carbonation - the feeling being that the acid content may have gotten high enough that it killed off the yeast or something like that. if you got one, maybe an employee not in the know just grabbed a bottle out of the back when they shouldn't have? there was a bit of miscommunication at the bloomington brewpub regarding release dates, when unclaimed bottles would become available for local sale, etc... i guess wouldn't be surprised if a couple of uncarbonated persimmons snuck out by accident.
