Has anyone traded for this recently? If so, care to share what you gave up or received for a bottle? Posts here or BMs are fine. Thanks for any input!
This won't really help (sorry), but... I got one as an extra from an awesome trader... proof that there's still some mighty generous people out there!
Recently, part of a package for Southampton Black Raspberry Lambic and $4$ for LeBleu. A while ago, schlepped over a case...
So it sounds like Persimmon is the Heady Topper of Indiana - all I have to do is find a trader in Indiana and it will be included as an extra. If only I knew this all along...
Thanks, didn't know it was potentially being released again soon. I guess I'll hold off on trying to track one down until after the (hopefully) upcoming release.
for people that live outside of the area, it was also kinda tough to get more than one of each type, unless you went in and reserved 2 separately and then had a proxy pick it up and mail it out. i was lucky enough to have someone proxy most of the varietals to me, but the cost of getting more than one of each was way too much for me.
The biggest problem that you'll find is in line with what Mongo said; that is probably the most sought-after Upland release. Most people that I've spoken to find it to be their best beer, or at least after the Sour Reserves if those are your thing. In Indiana, we don't have much local beer trading power anymore now that GI and Founders are stretching their distribution so thin. I would bet that most people will be holding onto their Upland Lambics in the future pretty tightly. I'm hoping that as they get better, they become brewery-only releases.
From what I've heard from my sources, they would still like to release it, but if it never becomes carbonated enough for their liking, they'll just end up dumping the whole batch instead of releasing sub-optimal product.
