Upright Fantasia

    Hey guys,

    Planning a trip out to Portland over New Years for a few days and I saw that Fantasia was released on Jan. 2 last year. Anybody hearing anything similar this year? Would love to try and get a bottle while I'm in town as it has eluded me to this point. Any feedback would be great.

    Haven't heard anything... Keep an eye on their Twitter: https://twitter.com/UprightBrewing. That's really the only source of information for them. Sometimes they don't announce bottle releases until the day of...

    The last few releases have all been various weeks in Jan, but they are not on a strict release schedule so it's going to come down to blind luck whether the release happens when you're in town or not.

    Either way, you might as well check out the brewery if you're going to be around the area. It is one of the top breweries in PDX after all. Also, they usually have bottles for sale so even if it's not Fantasia you may be able to pick up some interesting/limited stuff.

    Hey OP, Last time I visited, there were some cool Upright bottles available for on-site consumption, as well.

    Also be sure to check Grain & Gristle and/or Old Salt Marketplace. Alex Ganum is involved with both of those restaurants and they always have a few one offs on tap at each place. I was at Old Salt a week and a half ago, and they had Fantasia on tap.

    Good point. Granted, it's been some months now since I stopped by, hoping to score some special herbs bottles, but at the time, they had bottles of fantasia from the prior vintage available for on-site consumption. Can't remember the price now, but I remember thinking it was quite reasonable, considering the retail price for the beer (and how insanely popular it is).

    I doubt they're sold out. In the past it's made it through the weekend.

    I think there were probably 75-100 people there Saturday between 1 and 2 pm. So it's likely they'll have bottles for at least part of the upcoming weekend.
