I received a call that my box of BBQ sauce was damaged and a total loss. The box was "unsalvageable" per the caller. However, they said the box was packaged well and they are refunding the purchase and my next shipment is free. They said it would take up to 3 weeks to process. My question is, does UPS "red flag" a shipper if they find beer in a box? I was surprised they didn't just say I violated policy, and I guess maybe they still could but I am under the impression that I am in the clear. However, I don't want additional scrutiny placed an future boxes I ship. Anyone had any experience on this front?
Not to worry. If you pack it right they are happy to take your money to ship whatever you pack in there is my experience.
I was shocked this box was damaged. It was a recycled bottle shipper with the cardboard bottle holders on top or bottom. I guess I'm more shocked they are going to pay me back. Luckily, no whales on board.
