So a couple weeks ago, I shipped a box to myself from out west with Sucaba x2, Abyss 2012 and Abyss 2011. It never arrived, so I called UPS today and they told me that the package was damaged during transit, they were investigating a delivery exception, and all contents were destroyed.

It seems from reading the other threads here that I may get a stern letter, and probably nothing will happen, but I guess I just wanted to lament losing such delicious (and expensive) beer. :slight_frown:

file a claim. Play the ignorant card. Ask how it happened and if any of it was salvagable.

Yes they will destroy it. UPS is the worst I will never use them again. I have done many trades and one time UPS called me, said a box I sent to a MN trading partner was leaking so they opened it and discovered alcohol. They said they cannot ship it anywhere else after finding alcohol in it and if it was not picked up by someone within 24 or 48 hours (I cannot remember exactly) that all contents would be destroyed.

So I had to suck it up and have my trading partner go to the UPS facility and pick up the box!

I have had two instances with FedEx-one time the box they sent me was not the box it was shipped in, and it smelled like beer. Turns out it was missing some extras my trading partner put in. It must have been damaged, so they re-packed the good beers that were left and sent me the rest in a new box! Either that or they jacked me lol...

Just last week I had a box sent to me that was damaged and leaking, but they called the guy who shipped it and said they were sending it back to him. Thank God because it had nothing but Alpine in it and Expo Hoppiness at that! So it was a win win with FedEx either way. Just say NO to UPS!
