Anytime someone declares they remember one specific package drop out of hundreds it sounds fishy. As a mechanic I work on hundreds of vehicles a year and couldn’t tell you about any of the repairs that went right. The only ones I remember are the ones that went wrong. At the end of a busy day I can never recollect all of the vehicles I touched.

Same thought crossed my mind as well. It really felt like I was being fed a line, which obviously I was. I got the impression FedEx just didn't want to take responsibility for the mishap. There was a very strong inference that my trading partner had actually gotten the box, and that the two of us were trying to perpetrate some sort of scam.

So you can probably understand why I was pretty pissed when it turned out the FedEx agent had been lying through her teeth all along, and why I tried to call her back for an explanation after the box showed back up in their system.

Probably a complete waste of time. I'm sure she would have just fed me another line.

Anyway, just thought I'd pass along my experience as a reason why @wxmanify shouldn't give up hope. His box may yet show up, despite what FedEx tracking shows.

One thing to add to the discussion - if it's delivered and you don't have it then check 2 things.

    1) Ask the trader a picture of the label. Recently the trader screwed up and shipped it to the wrong unit #. I told him and asked to confirm he sent to the correct unit #, and he said Yes. So I had to go to the post office a few days later, stand in line and get confirmation it was delivered to my house and that's when I asked can you confirm unit # ? He double checked and confirm the label was for a different unit #. Thankfully my neighbor kept the box and got it back from them. Still irritated about the sender. I guess the bigger point is always ask for the label, not just the tracking # ?

    2) If the label is correct, make sure the carrier delivered to the correct address! Recently Fedex screwed up and delivered my box to U-Haul ! I got an email from fedex stating it was delivered. Went to the door , and there was no package. I looked at the email again and I see fedex wrote it was delivered to a different address. I checked google maps, and it was a Uhaul store! When I called Fedex and reported their error, the guy couldn't care less. No emotion, or care in the world. Bro, I have proof that you delivered to the wrong Street and you ask me stupid questions like - were you home when it was delivered? Wild story, but true!
