I was supposed to receive a shipment yesterday shipped via UPS. Tracking said at 7am that it was on a truck for delivery. My driver said his records showed it was never on his truck. At 10pm it was listed as damaged/all contents discarded. I called UPS and they said that if it was scanned as being on a truck then it was put on a truck. Although they said it may not have been my drivers truck. The sketchy part is that they say that they don't know which truck or who brought it back to the dist. center. I know that somebody is probably drinking my beer but has anybody had this happen to them or have any advice?

My guess is somebody dropped the box and made a mess in the process of loading up your truck, and it just didn't get into their system until later in the day.

I've heard of drivers having it on their truck then it gets "damaged" at that point.
Also possible someone at the distro center caught it. I'd just call, or better yet have your sender call and file a claim. Say it's glassware. Try to get some reimbursement for it and then the sender should resend.

Sender should resend regardless of claim result actually. It's on them until the tracking status says "DELIVERED"

Similar situation just happened to me. Box was on the truck Saturday for delivery next business day, then come Monday box was damaged and shipped back to sender. I tried to call and see if I could just pick it up, but that was a no go and they shipped all the way back across the country instead.

Well of course because that makes sense.
