Does anyone have experience with UPS tracking going from ‘Out for Delivery, back to ‘On the Way’ the next day, and then to ‘delivery date will be provided as soon as possible.’ Tracking had it as having reached my local distribution hub on Monday, and then by today it has changed from the second to the last of those three messages. From your experience, is this what happens when they have lost the box?
No. Not that it isn't lost, but it doesn't mean the box is lost. Logistics are a nightmare the last 2 years, and I've seen alot of unusual occurrences , "phantom" deliveries, missing contents, stolen contents, swapped contents, etc... - both shipping of beer and shipping anything from a few miles away or out of the country. I recently sent a box to France and it sat in Belgium for 2 weeks with no update. Then one day, randomly was it was scheduled to deliver and the goods arrived intact. Hope your package arrives!
My experiences coincide with @Yabu's. I've had the exact same thing happen you're experiencing, and had similar concerns. In my case, everything turned out OK. The recipients got their boxes In a recent episode, I sent my two brothers each a beer two pack. My brothers live in the south bay area, less than 10 miles from one another. One got his box in a couple of days, the other in a week. The box that took a week, I got the same sort of messages you're describing. To this day I have no idea what happened, but regardless, my brother did finally get his box and the contents were fine. That doesn't mean your box might not be lost, but at this point I wouldn't assume it. Good luck.
