Im in upstate NY. 1 hour north of Albany. Wondering who else is around the area to get some pointers where some good beverage centers or anything else. Only have a couple places close to me. They don't have that much of a selection.

    Thanks

How far is EBI in Saratoga for you? I've had some luck there in the past.

Unfortunately it is south of Albany, but if you ever find yourself near/in Catskill, try Beer World. A friend of mine raves about it every time he gets back from camping in the area. I have yet to go, but plan on it next time I am up there.

I'll be headed up into the Adirondacks next month. So, any hints for good shops would be awesome for me also.

Where in the Adx? Generally speaking there isn't much shopping of note up there and i'd recommend pretty highly bringing your brews with you if you're particular. If you're close enough to Lake Champlain you can go over to Burlington where there are plenty of good options. In the park itself I am at a loss to recommend a shop of note that will be close to anything you'll have at home, or perhaps on the way up (there are a few good spots to stop before you hit the park).

Lake Pleasant/Speculator. The middle of nowhere.

I was hoping for some good options on the way, or way back. I'll be running the thruway 87, then 90 to Amsterdam, then up into parklands.

Bills beverage is in Amsterdam. Its on the Corner of Park St. & Locust Ave. Amsterdam, NY 12010. Just off Route 30/Market St. when you get off the 90. Not a big selection though. Also the Fastrac on Route 30/Market St. in Amsterdam has growlers. There is 4-5 on tap. Ithaca Flower Power was there. And the Price Chopper grocery store has mix sixers.

If you are going through Albany, definitely hit up Westmere or Oliver's. You could also go a little north to Hoosick st. Beverage in Troy. I live in the northern end of the park and if you're ever up here, there is not much available. Fusion Market in Saranac Lake has an okay selection but prices are high. Next door at the Lake View Deli is a decent but small selection as well...better priced. Some random gas stations actuall started carrying Bells so I have seen Two Hearted in Old Forge and some other southern Adk towns.

Westmere is good, Latham Beverage is pretty solid too, also try Schanz Beverage in Watervilet

If you like $15 per bottle KBS and a creepy atmosphere, Beer World is the place to be.

Sounds like a good store but...Some of the reviews sound kind of questionable. At least 5 of the reviewers all registered on Nov. 14-17 2013 and only have 1 place review. They all rated it a 4.5 or 5. Coincidence? :astonished:

I went to minogues in queensbury recently and was not impressed. There is another store in queensbury called hops and barley which was similar...had Westbrook Gose and some stout trooper...but overall a small. Go to Hoosick, westmere, or Oliver's.
