Shipping beer is great, the cost is insane. At least most SN beers ship free with $100 purchase. Shipping also just went up at the USPS. Enjoy
For the situation of ordering beer, isn’t it the case the vendor (e.g., brewery, retailer) needs to utilize pirate ship dot com? As a customer ordering beer, you can’t implement this? Cheers!
You can ask, though. And suggest if they don't. No need to pay money that you don't need to pay. I know I've asked breweries that have shipped. Otherwise, I won't buy beer to be shipped unless they're running a free shipping deal.
I guess for me I get tired of the same old selection on local shelves and I don’t travel that much. My local beer scene does the job for the most part, but sometimes I like to splurge and ask trading friends to send a box of fresh hoppy beer from one of the exceptional brewers out there. Because they pickup from their brewery on release day, these are normal weeks fresher than anything I can find on my shelves locally. As for brewery shipping, I really love Fonta Flora and wish I could order direct from them still. Their offerings rotate frequently and being able to have my favorites once a year would be a treat!
FF was shipping, stopped, started shipping curated sets, went back to shipping and seem to have stopped now. The shipping they asked for was quite high. I do with I could order a few things each season from them. Some outstanding beers. Enjoy
(sigh) And not for the first time I've sed that here in ass-backwards Sasnak, we can't get ANYTHING alcoholic shipped into the state. Grrrrr...............
Other Half says they ship to Minnesota? I am surprised, because I don't believe Minnesota allows that. Maybe the laws are not binding on the brewery doing the shipping, but on the recipient?
Second this. Here to say i dont wanna hear anybody say shit if i drink a budweiser but you're supporting some fuckboy techbros like Tavour, those fuckwads , with their disgusting beer descriptions , or the other company.
I’m all for direct to consumer but I draw the line at over priced singles with high shipping fees from third parties. Maaybe I’d consider buying from a store that ships like HiTime but otherwise no thanks. I happily support the techbro genius's that came up with pirateship.com though!
I have way better memories having a bud heavy with the boys when we're recovering from a brutal shift and trying to find joy in each other than I've ever had splitting some hard to access beer with a guy that none of the other dudes in the room really like, but "he's got an awesome cellar and shares freely" and really trying to pick up the barrel notes.
I use to trade back in the days when good to great beers were slime. I had beers shipped to me during Covid taking advantage of free shipping by some breweries, only if the beers were worth it. I still buy from KRBC and have them ship once or twice a year, otherwise I can buy their cans at my local. I’ve been the KRBC many many times so I know the brewery and its taprooms. One of my favorites. I’m like Mr Oh, I like to visit the breweries rather than take a chance and have it shipped. So I almost always bring cans with us when we travel international or domestic and bring their local cans back home.
