Hey guys, I'm going to be staying at the Radisson at Midtown USC. Is there anywhere within reach (food, bars, shops) worth checking out. I know HPB is about 20-25 up the road, but I'm not familiar with the direct area.

Also heading to Venice on Saturday per my GFs request. Anything other than FW worth checking out?

    Thanks!

Venice Ale House is right on the beach.

there's The Lab right next to that hotel, it's okay with some craft beer as well. But I'd rather take the time to drive to HPB instead.

Mumford and Arts District are downtown (about 3 miles away). Both are decent ... Mumford's Upresidential IPA and Uncle George RIS are standouts. Mumford's on a sketchy block. Arts District is massive and can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends.

Southtland (bar) and Beer Belly (restaurant/bar) are in Koreatown (also about 3 miles away). They have their taplists online. Beer Belly has solid food but if you're looking to eat I would definitely suggest hitting up a Korean spot.

If you'll be in Venice, you're pretty close to Library Ale House on Main Street in Santa Monica too.

Little late, but I'm right in that area and go to Mumford a lot and occasionally make the drive to Monkish/Firestone. Eight bar at WF usually has some good stuff on tap too.

the area near USC is pretty bungholey unfortunately. however there are lots of good Mexican places. one might even use the phrase 'a taco truck on every corner'

La Tequiza is really fucking good, if you'e looking for Mexican. everything there is good.
