I saw this post for those who may be interested... Used barrels (already used for beer) for $80 - $90. I imagine that they are probably still usable for aging beer, too https://www.facebook.com/CricketHil...88511.152289718162593/717252531666306/?type=1 The specific description reads: "Used Bourbon / Imperial Porter Barrels for sale. Turn them into tables, flower planters or a great conversation piece! $90 for one, $80 each for more than one. Only 6 left! Please call 973-276-9415 or private message us if interested."
I was just up in North Jersey and Alstede Farms had a winery doing a tasting with a big sign that said "used wine barrels $100." Didn't seem like a time limited offer, just an FYI for people who may be looking. Man I'd love to brew a sour in one of them....
people buy them up. Jack's abby sells their bourbon barrels for 50$ and I don't think they last very long.
I see them for a lot more normal retail, so I think this is probably a good deal. I don't think it's a lot of money for a full size barrel. Wood costs more than people realize. Try building your own furniture with wood from home depot and you'll see
