Utah Beer Appreciators Tasting

    Hello Utah BAs!
    I've lived here for the past year and a half and craft beer is one of my biggest hobbies. That said, I haven't yet had a chance to meet most of the craft beer community here in SLC/Utah. I love meeting fellow beer geeks/appreciators and talking beer, so I'd like to propose a post-holiday tasting for fellow beer aficionados. I've missed Mikey's holiday party the past two years, but this would be more informal and probably much smaller. I can contribute a 2014 Assassin and dependent on the final size of the group, a couple other things. Let me know if you'd have any interest in this, either by responding here or messaging me, and we'll see if we can get something rolling! And if you have any friends who aren't on BA but would be interested, let me know. Cheers and happy holidays!

    Ok, it does sound like we have enough interest to make something happen, which is great. Here are a few potential dates that I was thinking about:

    Saturday, Jan. 31
    Friday, Feb. 20
    Saturday, Feb. 28

    Please respond and let me know which of these dates is best for you, if any. I am guessing evenings are best for most, but let me know if you have another preference. The only other thing we'd need to figure out is where this should take place. We could potentially do it at my place, although it's a bit on the small side. Or we could see if it's possible to do it at one of the bars, or at someone else's place. Depending on how many people end up coming, everyone can contribute a bomber or so. I'm still good for the Assassin on my end!

    Right now anyone of those dates works for me. If I had to chose one, probably the 31st Sat. Not sure, but if this does not happen at someone's place, I don't think a bar will let us bring our own brew's in. I do not have the selection that I once had, but I will bring something from the SLS a bomber/750ml or two.

    If a few people want to get together this weekend, I'd be game. Tomorrow evening, perhaps? Only issue is the space...probably can't do my place this time around, so we'd need somewhere else to go. If tomorrow doesn't pan out, headed to San Francisco next weekend so a mid-February tasting is also looking appealing, and I'd be happy to host then.

    Hi, I just signed onto Beer Advocate this week - so am a complete newby. I am up for meeting fellow beer enthusiasts in the greater SLC metro area, so a get together sounds great. I will watch this thread and hope to participate. I have cellared some different barleywines/strong ales, but enjoy most anything (that isn't 3.2).
