    Who's going?!?!

I've seen the list of breweries who will be there but does anyone have the list of specific beer offerings (Thanks Mikey for the brewery list)? Also, will they be pouring beers over 4%? I saw postings saying you can buy up to 12OZ but wasn't sure if there will be sample sizes of higher ABV stuff.

I won't be going. I think it's hard to justify going when a lot of these beers are already easily accessible around Utah. Plus their rules and having to purchase tokens for a fill of beer is ridiculous. It's a beer fest, not a game arcade. That might just be me though.

I should have taken your advice...it was a huge disappointment.

Sorry to hear that. The beer laws are ridiculous, I look forward being back in WI another year or so.

Not to brag or anything but my garage beer fridge has a better selection than the Utah Beer Festival

When I saw the thread title with "Utah" and "Beer Festival" in the same sentence, I laughed out loud. Don't get me wrong, I love Utah, visit every year but the antiquated laws there just don't make it a great destination for beer.

Really, it's not even a good destination, lol You figure, Utah is a huge tourist attraction state (5 National Parks, Sking....), but the fucking mormons, don't want you to enjoy yourself besides visiting places. I will still be watching the news waiting for the day the fucking mormons put up that electrified fences.

    Cheers!

Hey Wasatch we ought to go drink some beer, maybe poke a few Mormons (get your mind out of the gutter) kick a few puppies (not literally) and discuss beer in all it's glory.

Any other Utah BA's down with meeting strangers from the Internet? It's not like this is craigslist or anything (not that there is anything wrong with Craigslist if that's your thing)

That would be Grand Juntion? Lucky you. I'll remember that for my Colorado beer run.

Went to the beer fest the first year we moved here and it wasn't that great...I don't think the breweries involved really bring anything out of the ordinary. Oktoberfest at Snowbird is better: great scenery, a decent selection of brews, and a really fun atmosphere. Anyway, Utah beer isn't so bad and living here makes it a lot easier to save $ for our beer trips! If I lived in a state with great beer bars and great distribution, I'd probably be broke all of the time! Curious to see what happens over the next few years though, seems like change is in the air...

Really...what bugs me the most are the draft laws. So people can drink wine and order shots but I can't have a quality beer on draft? Oftentimes I'm at the Beer Hive as they have a nice bottle list. Regardless of the laws, the state is pretty. My family and I did a short backpacking trip in the Uintas.
