Saw these at my local bottle shop for $250 a piece. Worth it?

I'd say it's worth a try if you haven't had it. Plus, since it's not really carbonated you can always open it and pour samples for special occasions and then put it away.

No. Buy yourself a nice bottle of sherry and call it a day.

In my opinion, there is no beer is worth $250 a bottle.

If you're willing to pay $250 for a bottle, then it's worth it.

Never had it, but at that price I have to say no. Never. Not unless drinking it turned me into some manner of super hero.

I haven't had it. The 2010 is probably very hard to find. If they're selling the '10 for the same price as the '13, I'd consider that a much better 'bargain'.

I think that is a fair price, as in it is not unduly higher or lower than the normal market price I would expect. I've paid that much. Whether it is worth it really depends on your budget and feelings, though. Utopias is similar to a liqueur and those can range from $10 to several hundred. Some people would feel stupid paying $800 for a bottle of Grand Marnier Quintessence, not wanting to spend more than $50 or $60 on a cordial. Others think it is worth it. Which type of person are you more like?

Good point! If it just granted me the ability to drink more beer, I might not be able to afford that.

Thats not an answerable question....too many variables. I love Utopias...never purchased one though...can't justify it. If you can, I highly recommend it! Understand though, it's a different drink altogether....more of a liquor than a beer. You may just do a few ounce tasters every so often. Much like doing a bourbon with a beer...if that appeals to you, give it a shot!

I had some of the 2010 at a bar and have been chasing that whale since. I bought a 2013 and I like it but I wouldn't recommend buying it for the price (as said, buying a nice sherry makes more sense). The 2010 I would buy in a heartbeat.

I honestly thought Utopias was a novelty until I tried it. It's actually damn tasty stuff. Worth 250 a bottle, that's all opinion and probably depends on your level of disposable income.

Boston Beer Co are some of the smartest sons a b!tc#&$ ever. Throw a $250 price tag on an above average beer and sell every single one.

No... for that price you can buy a couple whales at auction that are far superior beers. I tried it once, it was very good, but not in my top 50, no way.

There is no 2010. You must mean 10th anniversary which is 2012

If you're going to spent $250 on a bottle of something containing alcohol it'd better have Pappy Van Winkle 23 year in the name. Actually, it'd better be Pappy Van Winkle 23 year.

Nah, but Utopias is definitely worth trying if you can find a bar selling single pours.

We have a local liquor store in my area that does online sales. They have bottles of (??? Year) Utopias listed on their website (nothing on the shelf) for a slick $599!! That being said, $250 is a bargain. I've never had Utopias and unless a bottle just lands in my lap at a bottle share, I have no intentions of seeking it out.
