2011.....What is a roughly fair price for it and what could it theoretically fetch in a trade? How rare is it to run into a bottle for sale? Can you walk out the door and actually leave it behind?

I paid $150 for mine, I have no idea what they trade for. I see them on occasion in stores but the ones that are left are generally over $200 (I've seen as high as $300 for 2011) and they just sit there. I can and have walked out of a store without buying one, it is easy, I open the door and leave.

Not much trade value, as it's pretty easy to find. Unless you're looking for an older vintage, it doesn't really make sense to spend time and money buying and shipping $180 in beer when you can just pay directly.

It's going for around $140 in Seattle right now I think. Like Etan already said, it's not that hard to find, I wouldn't waste time or money trading for it. I've tried it once before and I don't think it's worth the price tag, unless you just have expendable money, but there are too many other readily available beers that I could spend that amount of money on and have like 15x the amount of beer that's in one bottle of utopias.

And what's the deal with the name anyway? Was "Utopia" already taken by another brewery?
Such an unusual word that just begs to be misspelled.

And yet, this is all I found. So I doubt it was some kind of trademark issue.
