Utopias hit the market in the TB area, Sarasota TW had 7 bottles when I got mine. Not sure how many are left as my father picked one up as well. I think he said there were 4 or 5 left when he got his as of Friday late afternoon. Figured I'd let people know if they're looking for it
they have been at a few...hell there is a place in casselberry that had like 7-8 bottles of the utopias from prior years for sale. i am supposed to get a few ounces in a trade coming up from someone (well he is sending it on the house) so if i like it im gonna pull the trigger on a bottle for my birthday this year!
I can't justify the price, would love to try it one day. $200 for a beer or a bottle of 23 year old Pappy(if you can find it).., I'll take the Pappy...
They had 23yr Pappy earlier in the day too, 3 bottles $300, gone within the first hour, the other Pappys were gone by noon. Had i known, i wouldve had my wife go over at 9am to buy the 23yr as well. Its not 'just a beer', its just made of beer ingredients. Its no different than wine, why pay $200-300 for barreled grape juice... Its much more complex than a liquor or wine. I have 25yr old scotch that is just as expensive and find Utopias to be much more enjoyable
I'm sure it's amazing, I'd chip in and enjoy one with someone and it's on my beer bucket list for sure...
Tough for me to justify the purchase of a $200 beer bottle. I managed to get me my hands on some Pappy and it is worth every penny IMO. I may consider splitting the purchase of a Utopias with a group of 6 or more.
There is a wine/beer bar near me that has a bottle for 300.00(price mark up due to it being a bar although u can take beer home to go, albeit rip off)... I'm tempted to tell the owner to sell 2 oz pours for 25.00 or whatever the going rate is so I can at least try it before I splurge on the bottle.
