While looking for KBS this last week, I discovered several bottles of Utopias. I found 2 bottles of 2010, and 4 bottles of 2012. Has anyone tasted both 2010 & 2012? If so, which do you recommend?

Is it common to find Utopias on the shelves in other states? I was in north NJ last week. I have yet to find Utopias in PA.

They were very much over priced. Both shops were asking $300 for both years. I will not pay that price, but I might offer them a lower price.

    Thanks!

Not sure about the ease of finding it, I haven't gone out looking. I picked up a bottle of 12 when it came out for $200 (split it with a friend). I really like it. Small pours and treat it like a sipping liquor not a chug fest. If you haven't had it I'd try to get one for a lower price and go in with friends to offset the sticker shock (and its a good excuse to get together and enjoy a new brew)

There's a store by me (in Chicago) that has one, the '12 I think, for $150. Geez.

I don't think they made it in 2010... I have an 07,09,11,12. 2012 is the best but the others are damn close.

Maybe it was 2011 then. The bottle was a shiny copper. So, I guess the comparison between 2011 & 2012. I have read several good posts about 2012.

The 2012 was the 10th anniversary wasn't it? Hence the "even" year release?

But yeah, it's fairly easy to find on the shelf for $300, because no one actually pays that much. When it's on the shelf for $150 (or $160 for the 10th) it disappears immediately.

$150 is below MSRP at this point.

It's either $300 or $250 depending on where you shop here in DC. I bargained mine down to $215 (before tax).
