Hello folks, I'll be in Carmel for the Big Sur Marathon next month. I want to plan out any local breweries/bars for after the race. Any recommendations? Thanks and I'm excited to check out Carmel/Monterrey
Post No Bills just north of Monterey in Sand City is a good spot, or at least it was a few years ago.
Cannery row brewing, although very touristy, can have a good tap list and nice outdoor seating area. Good luck with the race. I did the half a few years ago, it's a beautiful course.
Alvarado Street Brewery in Monterey. Walking distance from the aquarium. Peter B's is right around the corner too. Bottles N Bins is a good little place to find some bottles too.
I was there about 3 years ago. The house beers were not great, but the list was pretty extensive. I went around lunch time and the place was empty. It was also Black Friday when I was there, so that could have been a factor to the emptiness.
Good spots for dinner. Call way ahead.... http://m.yelp.com/biz/dametra-cafe-carmel-2 http://m.yelp.com/biz/basil-carmel-carmel-by-the-sea?osq=Dinner A good rule of thumb, keep a few bottles around, Carmel is basically closes early.
Several fun bars in back alleys. I'd add Little Napoli for food. And definitely Katy's Place for breakfast
Any updates on this? Heading up to Monterey area tomorrow. Anyone know if Alvarado street fills taped growlers? Same with Libertine as I'll be heading there Sunday.
