    Who's going? Where ya staying?

Haven't book hotel yet. Stayed at the Cascade last year and didn't quite like it.

Yep. Simba Run. Place is pretty solid and just a few minutes from the main event.

What didn't you like about the Cascade?

It's on like Donkey Kong. Private condo. Champage, caviar. None of you will be invited.

Wanted to finally get there this year, but you know being an accountant it isn't the best time of year to be splitting. (sigh). . .maybe next year.

Never mind...the wife decided she wants to go so we are hotel-ing it. Anyone ever stay at Lionshead before? (still open to sharing a condo if anyone has an extra room though...)

I've stayed at a couple of places in Vail. By far my favorite (if you can afford it) is the Tivoli Lodge.

I also don't think highly of the Cascade. Last time I went, it seemed a little worn down. My biggest problem with it is how far away from the Village and Lionshead it is. I prefer a much more central location.

This will be our 3rd year going and we've stayed at the Holiday Inn the past 2 years and it was great. We opted for a condo and it was pretty nice. They have a free shuttle that takes you back and forth to Cascade. I think it was $150 for a room, $250 for a condo.

We got a house this year but if we had a smaller group, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Holiday Inn again.

The only thing it had going for it was that the fest was just downstairs. Other than that it reminded me of a roadside motel in KS. Cheap everything for not a cheap price. At their restaurant I remember hearing the cooks in the bad cursing up a storm and talking about "some bitch that needed to be smacked". It's the first and only place where I wrote a letter to the management. Plus the location is too far from the village. I could go on

that sucks. i've never stayed there. for just a little more money, you can rent a 2br / 2 ba condo with a kitchen and room to spread out.

Thanks, based on this, I cancelled Lionshead and booked Holiday Inn. Feeling better.

    Skipping it this year, sadly.
3 in a row, and now we're taking a break, mostly from the increased costs of tickets and hotel.
    Ya'll have fun, dammit.

My first one this year, pretty excited. No room yet.. might have an extra ticket. Does anyone know if the tasting is sold out?

    Ball so hard.

Pounds upon pounds of pork, copious amounts of barrel aged brew, @joshclauss is not invited.

Tasting hasn't sold out yet, and has never sold out in the past until the weekend of the event. But the beer scene gets crazier every year, so I wouldn't wait around to buy tickets.

Don't want it, don't need it. Don't drink much beer. I'm going to Vail cuz I'm rich as fuck and like posting pictures of overpriced breakfast to social media with a location tag that says "in Vail, Colorado." I might pay Foursquare (because I'm rich) just to make sure that anytime I'm in Vail, it reads "in Vail, Colorado, bitches."
