I'm considering attending the Valley Malt Farmer-Brewer Weekend (http://valleymalt.com/farmer-brewer/) in January. Did anyone here go to last year's? If you did, how was it? How useful did you find the sessions to be, specifically on the brewing side? For someone with a long-term goal of opening a small brewery, would the weekend be particularly valuable, or would most of the information be easily obtained elsewhere?

If anyone has something to share, thanks!

I was both a guest and participant last year. So worth your time and money. The information that was passed around last year was hugely valuable to would be brewery owners and folks like me, who already run a beer company and since we plan to build a new brewery this year, I can't say enough about how useful and enjoyable the event was.

This year will be even better! Obviously, you saw the list of speakers and topics to be covered.
I also will be offering a case study this year about my experience of brewing a 100% local beer with barley and hops from right here in the valley. Very cool stuff. We, High Horse, will also have a few events(workshops, lunch, etc) at our bar/taphouse.

I say if you are planning to be in this business, this is probably the best option for learning from those of us already doing it. Plus, it's certainly less expensive than CBC(which I love too)

    See you there!?Matthew

ps. Feel free to PM me if you want any other information
