Old Rasputin $7.99 / 4pk and the SN seasonals (Bigfoot, Hoptimum, Narwhal) are all $8.99 / 4pk here.

Just grabbed Bell's Oberon while visiting my parents for $6.99 for the 4 - 16 oz cans in southeast Kentucky. I had to do a double take as that's one of my wife's staple beers and we paid $10.99 - $11.99 for the same thing on vacation.

Where do you live? Cause I'm moving there. Dirtwolf for $7.99 is almost half of what I pay...

    I picked up a "boat-load" of BOAT recently at Carton, $10 a 4 pk / 4 per person, 077XX was $12 - 2 pk limit
Thankfully my g-f was with me so we maxed out at 2 cases! Great stuff!

To me, there's no value there. A six pack (of 12s, yes) is only $1 more. And for me, that extra four ounces doesn't really make a difference - I'm going to have one when I'm grilling, so for an extra buck, I get two more beers.

Second this. The New Glarus Thumbprint series is hard to beat for 4-packs. Assuming you live in Wisconsin, that is.

Any high-quality brew under $10 around Chicago. The lowest I've seen these:

    Old Raspy - $8.49
    FBS - $8.29
    Brooklyn BCS - $7.99
    Nosferatu - $9.99
    Bigfoot - $9.99

You think you get two more beers, that is. Do the math. Never mind, I'll do it for you.

    $7.99 for 4 16 oz. cans = 64 oz. $7.99/64 = $.1248 per oz.

    $8.99 for 6 12 oz. cans = 72 oz. $8.99/72 = $.1248 per oz.

Gee whiz, it's the same price. Well I'll be dipped - there is value. They're the same per oz. price. How'd that happen?

As much as I love pint cans I cannot get over the fact that a 6 pack and four pack of torbedo by me are the exact same price.

Best value four-pack is Old Rasputin at $7.49, a great tasting beer with above average ABV and I would also include any Sierra Nevada four-pack seasonal for $8.99 (Narwhal, Bigfoot, Hoptimum) and also Torpedo 16 ounce can four-packs $7 are also a great value.

Yes they're the same price per oz. But the guy is saying that drinking 12oz vs 16oz isn't the big appeal for him, but rather the number of bottles/cans in the package. If he's only going to have one while grilling, why not make it 6 beers for 6 days of grilling instead of 4 beers with a little more in each? No need to be snarky about it.

Hard to define value. If I rate Stout A 3/5 and Stout B 5/5, and the former is $7/4-pack and the latter is $11/4-pack, I 'm not necessarily going to think Stout A is better value.

The 4-packs I buy most regularly would be Two Hearted (cans) and FBS.

Did you even read my post?

The four ounces per serving don't mean a damn to me. I open a beer - singular - when I grill. I drink it, and get on with my life. The difference between 12 and 16 ounces is forgettable to me.

With a six pack, I can do that six times. With a four pack, I can do that four times. 6 > 4. That's pretty simple math. For ~12% more money, I can have 50% more drinks.

I never said I got more beer for my buck. I just said I get more drinks.
