Backward Bastard is a BBA of Founders Dirty Bastard which is a scotch ale, so I overlooked the OP asking for a stout. Oops!

Oh for sure, just drank/reviewed the High West BA variant and loved it. Only $3 for a single too!

Thank you. BB is a much better beer than many BA stouts anyways, so my slip-up may have done a favor for those who are using this thread as a guide for their next purchase.

Brewery near me called Black Hog does some variants of their Leaves a Mark Imperial Stout each year. 11.5%ABV 16 oz cans, 4 packs, usually $15 or $16.

They have done rum barrel and bourbon barrel and port wine as well for variants.

They are also currently hand delivering orders to about 1/2 of the State of Connecticut!

Dale, I will keep my fingers crossed you find it. I had my first bottle of the 2020 release this past Sunday as I watched the Eagles-Packers game. This year's version is fantastic!

    Cheers!

Not here I talked to the guys in the store this morning that distributes Lagunitas and they didn’t even know what I was talking about. But there is 14 cases on BCBS on the shelf.

If you are willing to wait until Sept. 2021 maybe you will be able to buy those beers at discount?

I am sorry to hear that Lagunitas Willetized Stout is not available near you. Maybe next year?

    Cheers!

I doubt they’d discount it, priced at $12.99. But that’s a lot of beer too, if it’s not selling AB might have to cut the price next year. Flooding the market comes at a price. KBS was $17.99
4pk, it I was into buying stouts today that would have been my choice.

Well, @dlcarst posted in the BCBS thread:

"In September a few stores cleared them out for $5 each."

I suppose each retailer gets to choose how they want to manage their inventory (in compliance with state regulations).

    Cheers!

My top value BA stouts this year have been Willetized, KBS and Variants, and Central Waters Brewers Reserve lineup. O'Dell Barreled Treasure gets runner up. Boulevard whisky barrel stout and Dragons Milk variants are good value but I have not particularly enjoyed them.

I hate the price increase for the last two years for BCBS and while I like Lagunitas High Westified and Willetized, for my personal tastes, the barrel aging in BCS seems to be done longer/higher level. Goose Island has definitely lowered the price to value ratios in the last couple of years but I don't find BCBS a poor value. Sorry to be that guy:grimacing:

If we're going to include BA porters check out JA's selection of BA Framinghammer Baltic Porters.

I’ve seen FBS discounted to $4.50. I’d be in on $5 for BCBS, there’s no variants left though.

Just curious what the price point is on that? Abyss is easily one of my favorite BA stouts

Ask them to order you a case. The first year Hi West cane out I asked about it and got a look of blank stare. Once they looked the beer up they ordered a second case for the store. My case arrived, I bought it and loved it. Those were 22oz cases and I paid $8 a bottle. Never know till you ask.

    Enjoy

We've always gotten The Abyss in Casper. I hope that it doesn't follow the trail of Bigfoot and Alaskan Smoked Porter and...not show up!!
