I've been thinking about getting my feet wet in the trading world, so I'm going to keep it relatively simple for my first go round and just go after a single bottle of De Struise Black Albert. Simply put, what's its value on the trading market? Could a $4$ thing work?
I just drank my last one a few nights ago or I'd definitely send you one and will grab it (if not for you than for me!) if I run across it anytime soon. It's not super hard to find in NJ or PA, someone definitely has one to spare. P.S. It's the best Belgian take on a stout I've had, by far.
For what it's worth, i had a Black Albert i was cellaring for a little while (around 4 years - cellared longer than i envisaged) and found it pretty oxidised. Shouldn't be an issue with a more recent bottling.
Thanks for the help, guys! I've decided, though, trading for Black Albert is my plan B - plan A involves talking to the owner of a gas station liquor store (which was owned by my dad until he sold it to the new owner 20 years ago, so there's a VERY strong connection; plus I plan on getting a part time job there soon) and seeing if I can special order, if not a case (no way I can afford $110+ for a case), then maybe just a single bottle. ~$10 for a single bottle (I think) is a little steep for only 11.2 oz, but I can easily swing it.
If you were to order some I would be interested in a $4$ trade for atleast 1 or 2, then I would actually open the one I have now.
