Hey guys; I'm fairly new to this whole trading business, but I was wondering: I've got an '09 and an '11 Avery Mephistopheles. I was hoping to trade them for some '11 BCBS. Is 1 '09 Meph for 2 '11 BCBS a fair trade? Or 1'11 Meph for 1 '11 BCBS?
The Mephistopheles goes for about 9-10 bucks around Mass and I paid 20-21 a 4 pack for all the BCBS I got this year so I'd 1 Meph any vintage for 2 bcbs is fair.
1x Meph for 2x BCS probably wont happen. 1x Meph for 1x BCS + locals $4$ might happen. 1x Meph for 1x BCS should happen.
Really only one way to find it. Never hurts to post an ISO. The request is reasonable, but not sure if it will get done. Meph really tends to sit around, in multiple vintages.
you'll only trade mephistopheles for BCBS if your trading partner is generous and wants to hook you up with BCBS, at least until BCBS becomes plentiful again. the last couple releases disappeared from shelves immediately, while mephistopheles sits around on shelves for, literally, years. very easy to find.
Pretty much this. I just extra'd one to a trader in Ohio as it's above the ABV cap, and therefore not easily attainable. Folks in states with ABV caps might have some interest.
p.s. not to shit on mephistopheles's stout, by the way, as it's a beer i'm totally in love with. but i can buy it whenever i want, and even if couldn't, if i had some BCBS lying around i know that i could get something i want to try (or drink repeatedly) more than meph with it. just the nature of scarcity, demand, etc. (edit: though, somewhat undermining that, i'd also extra BCBS, ie give it away for free, so how much logic can i really say is involved with this stuff?)
Meph is an easily-acquirable shelf-beer. Barring some unusual circumstance, it's a straight $4$ trade item.
Too late. At least in my local shops. Earlier this year I was able to pick up 2009's and now everything is gone.
