Going to be in Vancouver for a weekend in about three weeks, where should I go for a beer(and food) and where should I go to buy beer? I noticed BierCraft has some Cantillon on draft (according to taplister) so I'm planning on going there.

Also if you know of any places where I can buy Cantillon bottles, a message would be greatly appreciated.

Or IP trades for some Jester King stuff is welcome too.

    Cheers!

Piggybacking on this, I'm planning a trip up to Vancouver this weekend. Just a day trip from Seattle. I'm planning on hitting four winds, hunting down some miscellaneous Canadian beers, but also on the hunt for some Cantillon. I usually hit Brewery Creek. Any chance they or other shops currently have Cantillon on the shelves?

Best bets for Cantillon are 16th Street, Brewery Creek, and Legacy in that order (I think). Not much around town these days besides the regular lineup as everyone finally caught on.

As for where to drink, I wouldn't trust taplister here, hit up Alibi Room and/or St Augustines for the best tap lists in town. There's a ton of great local stuff around these days.

Yeah I don't think you'll find Cantillon on tap anymore (was a little bit when we first got our shipment). Biercraft is still a good choice, mind. Alibi Room is the must go to, and St. Augustines is up there as well.

I'd also recommend checking out Brassneck and 33 Acres' tasting rooms, as they're near each other and a good chance to see some great new Vancouver brews. Just wish Four Winds was more accessible in Vancouver.

Still some Cantillon at 16th - last time I was there they have 750's of Iris, Guezue and Kriek. They also had a few 3F's.

As Kump notes, Four Winds is way out in Delta and not very close to the rest of Vancouver (about 40 min drive). Too bad as it is great. Highly recommend Brassneck.

Does Four Winds only sell from their tasting room? No distribution?

They distribute their regular lineup pale ale, saison, ipa, pils, porter? Also Seasonal 750mls around but those sell quick. They haven't bottled any of their sours yet.

Private stores only to my knowledge. You'll likely find some of their beers on tap at Alibi and St Augs and a few other places.

I will also piggy-back off this thread, staying in North Van on business. Never hung out there before. Any suggestions for bars or bottle shops in and around Lonsdale?

16th Street (http://www.16thstreet.ca/Home/Home.aspx) is probably your best bet for a bottle shop. It is one of the better selections in Metro Van and about a 10 min drive from the Lonsdale Quay.

They concentrate on US and Belgian beers. Their website sucks and doesn't show their selection.

LOL what bottle shops actually show their selection (accurately) aside from Belmont Station?

District Brasserie on Lonsdale is decent for food/brunch and lots of Belgians. Green Leaf Brewing is right in the Lonsdale Quay Market. 16th is best bet on the North Shore, but it's technically West Van. If you're near the seabus you have access to downtown as well. Steamworks has a bottle shop and there's Viti as well. Not to mention you'd be a really short walk from Gastown and all it's beery awesomeness. The Downtown area is extremely walkable, Main Street to Stanley park is less than an hour walk unless you stop and take a lot of picture
