Hello! Heading out west for a week from the 21st to 28. Somewhere during that time we will be driving from Van to Vernon to visit family. Looking for any bottle shops or awesome baby friendly restaurants with a above average tap list on the way. Not sure if those exist, but that's what I'm here for. Also will be staying in North Van for a lot of our time, if you have any recommendations? Thanks!
Bottle shops: West Kelowna = Cask & Barrel Downtown Kelowna = Metro Liquor Kelowna airport area = Public Liquor Vernon = Village Green (near the mall, but not the BC Liquor in the mall) I should also mention that a few craft breweries are starting to pop up as well. Restaurants are slowly evolving here. Until the mid 80s you couldn’t serve draft at a restaurant (food primary license). Even more recently, you couldn’t bring minors into a pub (Liquor primary), though some had a separate section that allowed kids. So good food and good beer rarely happened, and it was even worse with kids. Smack dab at the Manteo in Kelowna is pretty good, though it’s better when the patio is open. If you happen to go to Penticton, Bad Tattoo Brewing serves some great beer and pizza, and it’s kid friendly too. Lots of Vancouver options, but I’ll let a local chime in.

It’s mostly wilderness between Hope and Kelowna. You might want to take a break in Merrit, which is really the only town along the way. I don’t have any suggestions there though... it’s usually just a bathroom break and maybe a bit of fast food. Alternatively, you could go up through Kamloops on the way there or back. There’s some beer options there... Noble Pig, Red collar...
Just go to The Gull (Ask for Chris) in North Van and load up on beer andr whisky, best shop on the North Shore. Some cool ciders near Vernon though from BX Cidery, pretty sure they have a tasting room but you’ll have to google for hours. I think there’s a few other cideries in that area but seasonally not sure of their open schedule. You could also hit High Point LRS it’s just off the highway #1 coming over the bridge from NV. But if you’re flying here you could really hit most shops in Van between the airport and North Van.
