Tallgrass BA Buffalo Sweat brewed with cinnamon and vanilla. From Manhattan, Kansas. Not sure if it's available in Illinois.

Slightly off topic, but with as many Vanilla Noir comments as there are above, I have a question. Is this batch that is out now significantly different/better from the batch that came out last time? Other than the ABV? I remember the last batch being good, but not mind blowing and now everyone is going crazy for it.

Olde hickory calico Jack has a nice amount of vanilla out of the bottle. Shouldn't be too hard to trade for. Had it a day after VR and it actually held its own pretty well.

New Holland's "Dragon's Milk" is a bourbon barrel stout that has strong hints of vanilla in the taste. I'm one that enjoys different tastes, and I am a "beer advocate", not a beer aficionado, so I do not profess in providing the ultimate of beer reviews, but, this one is one of my favorites, has that delicious bourbon infused vanilla taste, has a high ABV, and I regularly enjoy it. I am blessed in having a couple of keg coolers in my home, and this is one beer that I keep, quite regularly, on draft. From a cost standpoint, I just wish I was closer to the brewery. I have also purchased it by the case (bottles) so I can occasionally even when traveling, but, you need to pour and enable it to breath a bit, from the bottle, or the bourbon taste might overwhelm your sense of smell and distort the otherwise smooth, creamy, soft, sweet taste.

Good list, you pretty much have the ones I would have named. But another good option is Cycle Nooner 9, which is basically their version of VR. It's not the best or rarest cycle beer so shouldn't be too hard to trade for, but still excellent.

Might have to try it again from a glass. I drank it from the bottle and got nothing other than strong bourbon, so didn't like it. I don't mind bourbon but with the taste I got from the bottle, may as well drink straight bourbon.

Avery Vanilla Bean bottle release party is 12/13, with distribution "shortly thereafter". Don't bother looking for it on the 13th.

Most of these Vanilla BA beers have a regular BA counter-part. That said, i generally feel like i have a tough time tasting the vanilla and distinguishing the difference.

The rest of the community is correct though: Prairie Vanilla Noir & Karbach BBA Vanilla Hellfighter.

Yes, it's fantastic. Lots of rich vanilla character throughout.
