Vanilla Porters

    Honestly, if you're looking for a vanilla-forward beer, VaS seemed mostly coffee-forward to me and will probably disappoint you if you really want just big vanilla.

    I think it was pretty much 50-50(coffee-vanilla) with the one I sampled in 2009.

    Interesting. The last bottle I had, there was definitely a milky/vanilla-ish element, but eventually the roastiness and coffee bean flavor really took over.

    probably not for me then. i don't drink or like coffee. i'm looking for a nice vanilla forward beer.

    I don't doubt your experience one bit. There are so many factors that can come into play when drinking a beer..

    The Karl Strauss 22nd Anniversary had a ton of vanilla. Doubt that you'd be able to find that any longer outside of a trade though.

    Came here to say the same thing. It was fairly limited in San Diego. Well what I mean is it sat around for about a year but it wasn't distributed very far. I had my last bottle a couple of months ago and the vanilla had died down a bunch but was still there. One of my favorite beers for sure so I suggest trying to land one.
